Second graders at ACPC recently performed their musical “A Few of Our Favorite Things”. Mrs. Laura Marcum and all of the second grade students have been working hard for weeks to present their program to the school and to their families.
Mrs. Marcum said that after students perform a show they have a time of reflection about how students did and what they liked best. Every year the kids say the same things. They really enjoy watching people do parachute routines, dance, use blacklights, and use the cardio drums. So this year the program was simply put together to showcase their favorite types of music presentations. Which included the following:
1. Can’t Stop the Feeling –-Ms. Petty’s Class (Parachute Routine)
2. Fireflies –-Mrs. Kathrine Rodgers’ Class (Parachute Routine)
3. Footloose—Mrs. Pelston’s Class (Cardio Drums)
4. Turn the Beat Around –Mrs. Ryan’s Class (Cardio Drums)
5. Everything is AWESOME —Mrs. Dean’s Class (Signs, masks/costumes, dance)
6. What a Wonderful World —Mrs. Morrison’s Class (Black light)
7. Rodger’s Music Mash-Up —Mrs. Rachelle Rodgers’ Class (Black light)
8. Light Up the World —Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Wall’s Classes (Black light)
Students played an active role in coming up with the choreography, song selection, and props used. The students wanted to entertain their audience and it seems like it was a success. Thank you to our parents and community members who came to watch and support our students.
