Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA? What every employee needs to know - The Adair County Schools in partnership with KDE is working to provide the most secure online network possible to protect your information and the information of our students.  In order to do this, we have had to take additional proactive steps.

  • All employees will use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when logging into their Adair County Schools account.  This is a two-step process to verify that you are authorized to be on your account.

  • To authenticate your account, you will need to set up your account using a phone call, security key or you can use the "authentication" app on your phone/tablet.

  • If you experience technical difficulties, please contact the Technology Office.

MFA: What to Expect

What is changing?

  • All staff accounts will become more secure with the strategic rollout of single sign on features for log-ins.

How does this impact me?

  • Each district staff member will be receiving a more secure identity, extra layer of protection for their account.  This is similar to the increased security of many banks, credit cards, and even Amazon.  This process will now be similar for your school account.

What are the benefits?

  • Simplify the staff logons using Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), Single Sign On, and Password Expiration Notification.

  • Secure the staff logons with MFA and Conditional access to combat account compromise, which can lead to data breaches, ransomware and other potentially crippling security incidents.

  • The new features will assist with securing identities to help prevent possible breaches on district information.
